Poodles come in several sizes including standard, miniature and toy. A friendly and intelligent dog, poodles require lots of grooming to maintain their unique appearance. Their coat makes them an ideal pet for those with dog allergies. The toy version tends to be more energetic, and the standard size can learn to be good guard dogs. Poodles require companionship and are not happy being alone for long periods of time.
